Jakub Wejher (Weiher) of Skarzyna's blazon was the oldest son of malborsky's voivode and then chełmiński's voivode Jan Weiher and mirachowski starost's wife Anna Szczawińska. He learnt in Hozjanum College in Braniewo (Jesuit) on the royal court being the valet of prince Władysław and at the same time being at the Boloński University. After studies graduation he took part in 30- year War fighting on the side of Catholic league under the command of Albrecht von Wallenstein. For his military contribution he received the count title from emperor Ferdynad II.

After coming back to the country he took part in the campaign of smoleński's king Władysław IV. During this trip on city Biała an event occurred, which had an impact on Jakub's future life- when he was buried alive in the trench he vowed that if he was to be survived he would with every strength propagate God's fame and he would built the church in honour of The Holy Trinity and St. Francisco.

When Jakub Wejher survived he settled down and got married. For his numerous military contributions and engineering work he was prized with człuchowski and bytowski starosty, chełminski's castellan department and the department of malborsky's voivode. This caused that he became one of the most important senators. Most of his vows he fulfilled in 1643 by building St. Francisco church in the area of rzucewski's ancestral church goods. By the temple Wejher located town settlement called Wejherowsky Wola. Later he funded there Franciscan monastery and Calvary as well as he urged the king Jan Kazimierz for town privilege for his settlement called from that day Wejheropolis.

The last years he spent on fighting with Swedish. Being nominated the highest leader of Prussia- the general of Prussian lands he defended Puck against Swedish airdrop. He also defended Malbork however after 20 -month -siege he agreed on honorary capitulation. As one of the trusted advisors of Jan Kazimierz he fought next to the king in many battles, he took active part in the political life of the country. During the trip to Gdansk with the king he died after short illness and was buried in St. Nicolas church.
