One of the oldest city monuments is Monastic St. Ann's Church of Franciscan Younger Friars from Jakub Wejher's foundation from 1659. The most precious treasure of this church is the picture of Wejherowski's Soul and Body Healer Heavenly Mother famous for grace which is probably 17 th Century painter Andrzej Stecha authorship. In the picture Heavenly Mother is holding the Infant Jesus in her left hand and in her right one she has the golden scepter. Mary's face has pronounced features of a young beautiful lady. Her right ear is adorned with an earring and it is so exposed as if she were listening to the believers' requests. Mary's feet covered with sandals are stamping the snake which is slithering on the globe. Next to the feet there is visible the golden horn of the crescent with human face on it. Infant Jesus is holding in his left hand blue orb and in his right one a rose.
The picture is described in the Wejherowski's Monastery chronicle under the date of 20 June 1654. There are also preserved the documents which describe that the pope Pius IX on 6 th June 1862 granted the plenary indulgence to all visitors to St Ann's Church during Christmas, Annunciating, Exonerating and Ascension. This fact contributed to future Marian cult.
Numerous votas placed next to the picture of Wejherowski's Soul and Body Healer Heavenly Mother prove of believers gratitude for listening to their requests .Therefore Wejherowo is called “Cashubian Jerusalem” as well as “cashubian Lourdes” and is more often known place of destiny for many pilgrimages.

In 1974the priest primate cardinal Stefan Wyszyński in the character of a pilgrim was praying in front of the picture of Wejherowski's Heavenly Mother. On 11 th February 1987 during the ceremonious Mass on the remembrance of the Blessed Virgin Mary from Lourdes 17 groups of Wejherowska's Heavenly Mother worshipers made a request for picture coronation with the papal crowns. From that day every month the believers gather in front of the Marian altar in the Monastery Church. Many votas placed next to the picture prove of the believers' gratitude for listening to their requests. Wejherowska's Heavenly Mother picture was crowned on 5 th June 1999 by the pope John Paul II during the Mass on Sopot's hippodrome.

Cure cases

There are many of cure cases but personal details of these people are not revealed. One of the confirmed cases is among others the Franciscan Ireneusz from the wejherowski's monastery. The most touching cure described by “Sea Star” is the one requested by the paralyzed man from Gdansk who asked for curing of his sick on leukemia daughter. When she got pregnant leukemia became even more dangerous. The doctors suggested abortion because according to them the life of mother and child was endangered. The pregnant decided to carry the child and she succeeded, however it damaged her health considerably. The paralyzed father made a resolution that on the 11 th day of month he would be present on the mass in Wejherowski's sanctuary. After a year his daughter was cured. Now she lives in Germany.



Next case is curing the woman sick for uterus cancer. She lived in France and her mother who lived in Szczecin came with the pilgrimage to Wejherowo on 11 February 2000 praying for her health as on that day her daughter was to be operated. In this time when people were praying for her health in the Sanctuary the operation was being taken. To the doctor's amazement it turned out that the tumor which many times was diagnosed was gone. The woman was completely cured.

Another touching cure was the case called “Lord gave the life, Lord took the life”. To wejherowski's sanctuary was delivered a letter of Wejherowianka who lived in Warsaw. She asked for curing of her husband who was sick for cancer and for progeny gift for her daughter married for 20 years. The father Gwardin answered the letter saying that the mass in this intention would be celebrated. He also asked for future information. 6 months later a letter was sent that unfortunately sick husband died but the daughter who came for the funeral said she was pregnant. She gave birth to a healthy little girl Maja.

These are only few from many proofs of graces prayed in front of the Miraculous Picture of Wejherowski's Madonna who is worshipped for curing the sick.

Sanctuary invites

• Every 11 th day of the month on the mass in front of the famous for grace Wejherowski's Heavenly Mother at 9:00 (on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.). During the mass we pray in the intention of suffering spiritually and physically people, for the dead and living worshipers of Wejherowski's Mother, for the Polish people being abroad as well as for every given intentions
• Every Wednesday and Saturday on Marian liturgy in front of the Wejherowska's Heavenly Mother
• On everyday adoration of the host (from 8:30-18:30)
• On using the sacrament of penance during the everyday duty hours in the confessional, “on the bell” from 9:00- 12:00 and from 2:00-5:30 p.m., and on observing the fast ‘bread and water' before ever mass on the first Thursdays of the month in the intention rewarding for sins and requests for reformation. In the intention of prayers donors we pray every day in our monastic community and every week we celebrate Mass in the intention of our monastery benefactors.
